Mountain Man Park
Only a quick walk across the street from both the Fraser River Trailhead and across the river from the Mary’s Pond Trail is Mountain Man Park. You’ll see it on the right as you cruise into the development. Mountain Man Park has a rugged name but an inviting atmosphere. It is beautifully located at the bottom of the Rendezvous Development, close to many other activities that Rendezvous has to offer, like fishing on the Fraser River Trail or doing the Mary’s Pond Trail loop.
Walking through the park I could nearly smell hamburgers cooking on the grills and kids counting down 3 2 1 in a game of tag. The park has plenty of seating for everyone to chow down on their barbecue or sandwiches. It also boasts a large pavilion providing cover from the sun and afternoon rains. It’s hard to beat Mountain Man Park’s two playgrounds.
On the mulch next to the pavilion and picnic tables is a playground kids will love. Parents can keep a close eye while their kids enjoy the slides and climb all over the play fortress. If they are no longer preoccupied with the playground, Mary’s Pond Trail is available to anyone and a splendid alternative.
The other playground is the whole Rendezvous Development! World class fishing and hiking surrounds Mountain Man Park. The Fraser River is close enough to get in a few casts while timing the food on the grill. The hikes, like the Chickadee and Bench Trail, can be accessed quickly and satiate the need to explore.
